Verification Policy

This Verification Policy governs all identity, business, property, and professional verification processes on the AGENTÉ.ng Platform.

Effective: July 30, 2026Last updated: July 30, 2026

AGENTÉ operates a verification-first PropTech ecosystem designed to reduce fraud, enhance trust, and ensure accountability between property seekers and providers. By using the Platform, users agree to comply with this Verification Policy, in addition to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

1Purpose of Verification

The verification framework is designed to establish trust between Hunters and Agents, reduce property fraud and “ghost listings,” prevent impersonation and fake agents, improve transaction reliability, enhance matching accuracy, ensure accountability across the ecosystem, and support regulatory compliance obligations. Verification constitutes a core operational pillar of the AGENTÉ reverse-marketplace model.

2Scope of Verification

AGENTÉ may conduct verification across multiple categories of users and data. For individual users (Hunters), this may include identity confirmation, phone number validation, device authentication, and behavioural verification signals. For agents and real estate professionals, verification may include identity checks, professional accreditation, business legitimacy, operational presence, and review of historical performance and activity. For landlords and property owners, AGENTÉ may verify identity, proof of ownership or control, and supporting property documentation. For properties, verification may include confirmation of existence, location validation, image authenticity checks, and availability confirmation.

3Verification Levels

AGENTÉ may implement tiered verification levels across the Platform. Basic Verification is required for all users and includes phone number verification, email confirmation, and device fingerprinting. Standard Identity Verification may include government-issued identification (such as NIN or international equivalents), facial recognition or biometric capture, and BVN validation where applicable. Professional Verification for agents and agencies may include CAC registration checks, estate agency accreditation, professional association validation, business address verification, and office confirmation where necessary. Enhanced Trust Verification for high-volume or premium agents may include physical office verification, transaction history assessment, performance scoring evaluation, client feedback review, and compliance audits.

4Verification Requirements

Users may be required to submit National Identification Number (NIN), Bank Verification Number (BVN), government-issued identification, passport photographs or live selfies, CAC registration documents (for businesses), utility bills or proof of address, property title documents (for landlords), and office photographs or geo-tag verification. All submitted information must be accurate, current, legally obtained, and either owned by or lawfully authorized for use by the submitting party.

5Verification Process

Users submit verification data through secure Platform interfaces. AGENTÉ may review submissions through a combination of automated checks, manual assessment, third-party validation, and database cross-referencing. Following review, AGENTÉ may approve the verification, request additional information, or reject incomplete or suspicious submissions. Approval of verification does not constitute a guarantee of a user’s credibility, integrity, or performance.

6Fraud Prevention & Risk Scoring

AGENTÉ may implement advanced fraud detection systems, including behavioural analytics, device tracking and fingerprinting, IP monitoring, transaction pattern analysis, duplicate identity detection, listing consistency checks, and AI-based anomaly detection. Users may be assigned internal risk scores, which may be used for access control, lead ranking, visibility adjustments, and account restrictions where necessary.

7Property Verification

To ensure authenticity of listings, AGENTÉ may apply property validation methods including geolocation tagging, live video or image verification, agent confirmation, landlord documentation, and third-party validation partners. Users must ensure that listed properties exist at the time of listing, that images are accurate and not misleadingly altered (except for non-misrepresentative enhancements), that pricing is truthful and current, and that availability status is updated promptly. False or misleading listings may result in suspension, credit forfeiture, or permanent account ban.

8Office and Business Verification

Agents and agencies may be required to undergo physical or virtual verification of their office address, operational presence, staff existence, signage or branding, and overall business legitimacy. This requirement is particularly applicable to premium accounts, high-volume agents, and enterprise users.

9Verification Fees

Where applicable, users may be charged verification fees as outlined in the Payment Policy. Such fees are tiered based on the applicable verification level, are non-refundable once processing has commenced, and do not guarantee successful verification approval.

10Verification Status and Badges

AGENTÉ may assign verification statuses such as Unverified, Basic Verified, Identity Verified, Professional Verified, and Premium Trust Verified. These badges are platform indicators only, do not constitute guarantees of performance or trustworthiness, and may be modified, suspended, or revoked at any time at AGENTÉ’s discretion.

11Revocation of Verification

AGENTÉ may suspend or revoke a user’s verification status where the user provides false or misleading information, engages in fraudulent activity, violates platform policies, becomes legally non-compliant, misuses verification credentials, or is flagged through risk monitoring systems. Such revocation may result in loss of access to certain features, account suspension, forfeiture of Credits, or permanent account ban.

12Data Handling in Verification

All verification data is processed in accordance with the AGENTÉ Privacy Policy. AGENTÉ may securely store verification data, share limited verification results with other users where necessary, engage third-party verification service providers, and retain data for fraud prevention and compliance purposes. Sensitive data, including biometric and financial identifiers, is subject to enhanced security and protection measures.

13Third-Party Verification Providers

AGENTÉ may use licensed or authorized third-party providers for identity verification (KYC/KYB), BVN/NIN validation, document authentication, facial recognition services, and fraud detection systems. These providers are required to operate under strict confidentiality and data protection obligations.

14User Responsibility

Users agree to submit only truthful and accurate verification information, keep their credentials secure, update their information where changes occur, refrain from impersonating others, and not bypass or attempt to circumvent verification systems. Users are solely responsible for any consequences arising from false, misleading, or incomplete submissions.

15Limitation of Liability

AGENTÉ does not guarantee the absolute accuracy of verification outcomes, the absence of fraud by verified users, the continued validity of any verification status, or the success of any transaction involving verified users. Verification is provided as a risk-reduction and trust-enhancement tool only and does not constitute a guarantee of trustworthiness, performance, or conduct.

16Compliance with Law Enforcement

AGENTÉ may disclose verification data where required by court orders, regulatory agencies, law enforcement requests, fraud investigations, or other applicable statutory obligations.

17Modifications to This Policy

AGENTÉ may update this Verification Policy from time to time. Any updates shall take effect upon publication on the Platform, and continued use of the Platform after such publication constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
